Pineapple Chicken



Its a Chinese chicken preparation made with pineapple.To give your taste buds, something different taste, this is a perfect sweet and sour chicken recipe which goes with noodles or fried rice very well.You can serve it in any of your home party.Children will also love this chicken preparation.I am sure it is going to be a hit recipe in your kitchen.

Cook Time            : 30 minutes

Serves                    : 5 people



Ingredients:

For frying chicken:

  • Boneless chicken : 500 gram
  • Egg : 1 piece
  • All purpose flour : 3 tablespoon
  • Salt to taste
  • Black pepper : 1 teaspoon 
  • Oil for frying
For gravy:

  • Pineapple small pieces : 1 cup
  • Onion roughly chopped : 1 large 
  • Red bell pepper roughly chopped : 1/2 piece
  • Yellow bell pepper roughly chopped : 1/2 piece
  • Garlic finely chopped : 4 large cloves
  • Spring onion finely chopped : 1 cup
  • Oil : 2 tablespoon
  • Salt to taste
  • Corn flour : 1 tablespoon
  • Tomato ketchup : 1 tablespoon
  • Oyster sauce : 1 tablespoon
  • Sweet chilli sauce : 1.5 tablespoon
  • Red wine : 1.75 tablespoon
  • White vinegar : 1 tablespoon

How To Make:

  1. Take clean and washed boneless chicken cut into bite size pieces.
  2. Marinate the chicken with egg, all purpose flour, salt and pepper. Leave it for at-least 10 minutes.
  3. Heat oil in a pan for frying.
  4. Fry the chicken pieces one by one and place them on a kitchen tissue paper so that excess oil will be absorbed.
  5. Reduce the oil from the pan leaving 2 tablespoon oil in it.
  6. Add garlic and saute it for 1 minute at high flame.
  7. Add onion it it. Season with salt.
  8. Add bell pepper and saute it for 2 minute.
  9. Take all the sauce,wine,vinegar in a mixing bowl.Mix it well.
  10. Add this mixture in pan.saute it.
  11. As required, you can add little hot water.
  12. Now add fried chicken in it.Give it a toss.
  13. Mix cornflour with little water. Add this into the gravy
  14. Adjust the salt and sweet taste.Here I am not using sugar as I use sweet chilli sauce and tomato ketchup.You can adjust the sweet taste with little sugar or honey.
  15. At last add 3/4 cup spring onion in it. Mix it well.
  16. Switch off the flame.
  17. Serve it in a plate and garnish it with leftover spring onion.
