Honey Caramel Spanish Flan / Caramel Pudding
Here is my another mouthwatering Christmas dessert for you which is a flan. This one is one of my favourite dessert. Here I have used honey with sugar to make caramel which makes it more healthy. It is very quick and easy to make and no need of so much ingredients. Kids love it very much. As it contains milk, condensed milk, egg, so it is a high protein dish and be served in kids tiffin box. It also can be served as a party dessert. So, lets go through the recipe.
Preparation Time : 15 minutes
Cook Time : 45 minutes
Serves : 9 people
Ingredients:
- Egg-3 numbers
- Lukewarm milk-1/2 cup
- Condensed milk-260 gram or 2/3 tin
- Vanilla essence-2 teaspoon
- Sugar-1/2 Cup
- Honey-1/2 cup
- For garnishing,
- Strawberry-few number
- Mint leaves-few number
How to Make:
- First make caramel. Take sugar in a pan or saucepan. Add little water.
- Allow it to melt. Stir it continuously.
- Add honey when caramelised. Cook for 2-3 minutes.
- Switch off the flame.
- Take 9 mini moulds and pour 1 tablespoon honey caramel in each mould. Let it set.
- Break the eggs in a mixing bowl. Whisk it well.
- Add condensed milk. Mix it well.
- Add lukewarm milk and whisk everything very well.
- Add vanilla essence. Mix it.
- Now fill the moulds with this mixture.
- Put all the moulds in a baking tray.
- Add hot water into the baking tray.We need to give a hot water bath to set the Flan.
- Put the tray in a preheated oven. Bake it for 30-35 minutes at 180°C.
- Once done, take it out and cool it to room temperature.
- To demould the Flan, put 1 min in a hot water bowl. It will help to demould the honey caramel flan. Also you can run a knife to loose the sides.
- Then flip to serving plate.
- Garnish with strawberry and mint leaves.
- Serve it with leftover honey caramel.
My Tip:
- Be careful when you make caramel so that it does not get brunt.
- Here I have used Brown sugar but normal sugar also can be used.
- If you don't have honey, you can use sugar of the same quantity.
