Pasta Payesh Chocolate Lasagne

Isn't sounds different? Here comes a innovative Indo-Western fusion dish from my kitchen. Now you can serve lasagne as a dessert. Normally pasta and lasagne both are cheesy and savoury continental dish. Here I have cooked pasta in Indian dessert payesh (authentic Bengali dessert) style and then made lasagne with it. I have also added some chocolate and fresh cream in it which makes it rich. My family loves it very much. If you make this, I am sure its going to be big surprise for your family. So, try it out in your kitchen and enjoy with your family.

Preparation Time : 15 minutes

Cook Time             : 90 minutes

Serves                     : 6 people

Ingredients:

  • Lasagne sheet : 8
  • Hazelnut white chocolate : 100 gram
  • Grated Dark Chocolate : 40 gram
  • Fresh Cream : 200 gram
  • Ghee, For greasing baking dish
For pasta payes:
  • Pasta : 1.5 cup
  • Full Fat milk : 1 litre

How to Make:

  1. Take water in pan to boil lasagne pasta sheet.Add pasta sheet in it and boil it until it becomes soft.
  2. When its done, transfer all pasta sheet into cold water so that extra starch will be washed out and one doesn't stick to another. Keep it aside.
  3. Take ghee in a heavy bottom wok and let it melt. Then add pasta in it and saute for 2-3 minutes. Then take out the pasta from wok.
  4. Pour milk into the wok and stir it continuously. Boil it in medium heat until it becomes thick and add bay leaves in it.
  5. Then add pasta and boil it until it becomes soft.
  6. Add sugar in it. When you add sugar it become little thin, so boil it for 10-15 minutes to thicken it.
  7. Add raisin, cashewnuts and cardamom powder in it. Swith off the flame. Give it 15 minutes standing time.
  8. Take out payesh from wok into a bowl.
  9. Make cream sauce mixing fresh cream with 2 tablespoon grated chocolate.
  10. Take the baking dish and grease it with ghee.
  11. Set the lasagne sheet on it. Pour cream sauce over it. Add pasta payesh on it. Finish it with grated chocolate.
  12. Repeat the layer 3 times.
  13. Finish it with white chocolate on the top.
  14. Bake it at 175°C for 25-30 minutes in a preheated oven.
  15. Take out from oven after baking and let it cool to room temperature.
  16. Keep it in fridge for few hours.
  17. Garnish it before serving with chocolate sauce and grated dark chocolate. Serve it chilled.

My Tip:

  • If you want you can use sugar in cream sauce also. Be careful as chocolate also contain some sugar quantity.
  • Here I  have used dark chocolate and white chocolate. But normal chocolate also can be used.
  • If you like ,You can serve it hot also with a scoop of ice-cream. But I personally like it chilled.
