Strawberry Jam (without Pectin)

'Strawberry Jam'---About this recipe I think there is no need to say anything about it. Everyone's favourite specially children loves it very much. But normally it comes from store in most of the house. If you can make it in your kitchen, it will be the healthiest version as it is without any artificial colour or flavour, without pectin and no gelatin. If you follow this recipe, you also don't need to compromise the taste. Today I am going to share fresh Strawberry Jam recipe. You can store this for atleast 2-3 months in refrigerator.
Lets go to the recipe.

Preparation Time 10 minutes

Cook Time       35 minutes

Serves            25 people

Ingredients:

  • Strawberry(chopped)- 1 kg [See in my youtube video: how to cut strawberry]
  • Granulated Sugar- 800 gram
  • Half of a lemon
  • Pinch of salt(optional)

How to Make:

  1. Take chopped strawberry in a large pan.
  2. Add sugar into it.
  3. Mix well so that sugar and strawberry get mixed.
  4. Now cook in medium heat and stir continuously.
  5. When sugar melts and strawberry is half cooked, squeeze the lemon into it.
  6. Sprinkle pinch of salt. But its totally optional.
  7. Stir well.
  8. Now take out the foam with a spoon.
  9. When it changes the colour and becomes thick, take a chilled plate and pour drops of jam and wait for couple of minutes.
  10. If you can see its set, then its ready and time to turn off the heat. [Check the video]
  11. Transfer into a jar after cooling little bit.
  12. Let it cool down completely and close the jar to store in fridge. You can store it upto 3 months in fridge.

My tip:

  • Always use sterilized jar to store.
  • Take the washed fruits.
  • In the same way, you can make mixed berry jam.
