Garlic Mashed Potatoes

Mashed potato is a traditional recipe in continental cuisine. It is normally served with any meat/fish steak or with some cooked veggies. Sometimes it can be used as a spread on the bread. It can be served as breakfast with any lean meat. Its very tasty as well as easy to cook in few minutes (if your potatoes are boiled). I like mostly garlic flavoured mashed potatoes. Today I am sharing my style of garlic mashed potatoes recipe.
Lets go to the recipe.

Preparation Time : 15 minutes

Cook Time       10 minutes

Serves            4 people

Ingredients:

  • Boiled Potatoes- 650 gram
  • Milk- 1 cup
  • Butter- 85 gram
  • Garlic(chopped)- 4 cloves
  • Salt to taste
  • Black Pepper(crushed)- 1 teaspoon
  • Oregano(dried)- 1 teaspoon
  • Grated Cheese- 100 gram

How to Make:

  1. Peel the boiled potatoes using your finger tips.
  2. Then mash properly using potato masher or your hand. Try to make it lump free.
  3. Add milk and mix it well with the potatoes.
  4. Take a pan and add butter.
  5. Allow it to melt in medium heat.
  6. Then add garlic and fry until it becomes golden brown.
  7. Add mashed potatoes.
  8. Season with salt, black pepper, oregano.
  9. Add grated cheese.
  10. Mix well and cook for a minute.
  11. Serve it hot and enjoy.

My Tip:

  • Floury potato is best for making mashed potato. If you don't have, any potatoes can be used.
  • If you are not confident to mash properly then grate the boiled potatoes to make it lump free.
  • Any cheese what you like can be used in this recipe.
