Plum Date Chutney | Zero Oil Chutney | Sweet & Sour Plum Chutney

Serves : 15 people
Ingredients:
- Fresh Plum- 500 gram
- Sugar- 3/4 cup
- Salt to taste
- Chilli Flakes- 1/2 teaspoon
- Black Salt- 1/2 teaspoon
- Grated ginger- 1 inch
- Dates(Chopped & Seeded)- 8~10 pieces
- Lemon Zest- 1 teaspoon
- Vinegar- 1 tablespoon
- Roasted Cumin powder- 1 teaspoon
- Nutmeg Powder- 1/4 teaspoon
How to Make:
- Take the washed plum. Then deseed & cut into quarters.
- Transfer into a sauce pan where you want to make the chutney.
- Then add salt to taste and allow it to get soft. Cover and cook for 10 minutes in medium heat.
- After that, you can notice Plum is getting soft & releases lots of juice. Now try to mash the plum with backside of the spoon as possible.
- Add Sugar and give it a good mix. Cover and allow it to cook in medium heat for 10 minutes.
- Add chilli flakes,black salt and grated ginger. Give it a good mix & cover to cook for 5 minutes.
- Add seeded & chopped dates and mix well. Cover & cook for 10 minutes.
- Add lemon zest followed by vinegar. Mix well & cook for 10 minutes in low heat.
- Now finish with roasted cumin powder & nutmeg powder.
- Give a final stir. Allow it to cool to room temperature.
- Once it cools down, transfer into a sterilized & dry jar .
