Tofu(Soya Milk Paneer) Tikka Kebab In Two Ways(with oven & without oven)

Tofu tikka is a perfect healthy vegetarian starter for any party. It doesn't take much time and required regular Indian spices. For this recipe, you don't need to use much oil also. Same way paneer tikka also can be made. This kebab should be served with coriander chutney and onion ring & lemon slice. This recipe is also recommended for beginner. Lets see how to make this kebab..

Cook Time       15 minutes

  • Tofu(cubes)- 200 gram
  • Red Bellpepper(cubes)- 1 Medium
  • Green Bellpepper(cubes)- 1 Medium
  • Red Onion(petals)- 1 Medium
  • For marinade,
    • Lemon juice- 1/2 of a lemon
    • Kashmiri Red Chilli powder- 2 Tablespoon
    • Turmeric Powder- 1 teaspoon
    • Coriander powder- 1 tablespoon
    • Cumin powder- 1 tablespoon
    • Garam masala powder- 1 teaspoon
    • Chat masala Powder- 1 teaspoon
    • Black pepper powder- 1 teaspoon
    • Salt to taste
    • Ginger Garlic Paste- 2 tablespoon
    • Hung curd- 2 tablespoon
    • Mustard Oil- 2 Tablespoon & Extra for greasing the pan
  • Wooden Skewers(soaked in water for 30 minutes)

How to Make:

  1. Take all ingredients for marinade in a mixing bowl. Mix well to prepare the marinade.
  2. Now add tofu and coat with marinade.
  3. Then add bellpeppers followed by onion.
  4. Keep it in fridge for rest for 45 minutes.
  5. Then arrange veggies and tofu alternatively(as per choice) in skewers.
  6. Method 1: In Oven
    1. Place the skewers in a baking tray(baking paper / aluminum foil lined).
    2. Bake for 10 minutes at 180°C in a preheated oven.
    3. Then broil for 5 minutes at 230°C.
  7. Method 2: In Gas top
    1. Grease the pan with oil. Allow to heat properly.
    2. Now place the skewers in hot pan.
    3. Roast from all side at high heat until it gets charred.
  8. Serve with coriander chutney, onion ring and lemon slices.

My Tip:

  • Here I have used tofu i.e. soya milk Paneer. If you use normal milk Paneer, just use instead of tofu.
  • Salt, kashmiri red chilli powder can be adjusted as per taste.
  • Some people use red food colour in kebab. But I don't like any artificial colour(Not good for health). So, I always omit this.
  • If you are using wooden skewer then, that should be soaked in water to avoid burning badly. Its a very important step.
